Executive Director

The American Institute of Artificial Intelligence (AIAI) is building a global network of professional societies focused on the application of AI across critical domains. These societies operate on ShareMax, AIAI’s Digital Society OS, where learning, research, governance, credentials, and AI-enabled capabilities come together in one unified environment.

We are inviting experienced professionals to lead these societies as Executive Directors. This is a leadership role for individuals who bring deep domain expertise and are interested in shaping how AI is understood, applied, and governed within their field.

Role Overview

As an Executive Director, you will be responsible for guiding the vision, structure, and growth of a professional society. You will work closely with AIAI leadership to build a credible, active, and  globally relevant community of practitioners, leaders, and learners.

This role is both strategic and collaborative. It involves thought leadership, community building, and oversight of learning and knowledge initiatives within the society.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Vision
  • Define the direction and focus of the society within your domain
  • Shape how AI is applied, discussed, and advanced in your field
  • Contribute to the development of standards, practices, and frameworks
Community and Governance
  • Identify and onboard board members
  • Build and guide a professional community of practitioners and leaders
  • Ensure alignment with AIAI’s broader vision and structure
Content and Knowledge Development
  • Oversee the development of learning programs, certifications, and resources
  • Guide the creation of relevant and high-quality content
  • Support the evolution of a structured Body of Knowledge where applicable
